Brief Biography
Dr Jodie Lodge completed her Doctorate of Educational Psychology at The University of Melbourne. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and has been endorsed as an expert Educational and Developmental Psychologist by the Board. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a Fellow of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists.
Dr Lodge has expertise in the psychometric testing of children and adolescents presenting with giftedness, learning difficulties, attention, and memory problems. Before moving to Hobart in 2014, Dr Lodge was the Director of a children's private psychology assessment clinic in Melbourne; worked for the Australian Government's key research body in the area of family wellbeing; served as an expert reviewer for the Australian Government on issues of school readiness, early literacy and numeracy, and school participation and retention; and taught as a University academic.
An accomplished researcher, academic and author, she has numerous scholarly publications, including the Australian entry for The International Encyclopaedia of Adolescence (Routledge, 2006) and a review on Technology and Social Media for a volume in the Adolescence and Society Series (Routledge, 2019). Dr Lodge has previously been awarded the Australian Policy Online Best Resource Award for her publication on Children who Bully at School (AIFS, 2014). She has presented her research both nationally and internationally, and is an active professional speaker.
Dr Lodge is passionate about child and adolescent development, and through her school assessment practice, she seeks to help each and every child reach their full potential.
